It's a truly remarkable time to be a Final Fantasy fan, and with the third and final chapter of the remake trilogy on the way in 2027, the franchise is entering an exciting new era. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation was officially unveiled at Summer Game Fest in June 2026, promising to bring Cloud's reimagined journey to an end on April 8, 2027.

The conclusion will expand the world even further, with the Highwind opening up exploration across the planet as Cloud and his allies prepare for their final confrontation with Sephiroth. Beyond the remake trilogy's long-awaited finale, Final Fantasy Resonance, the franchise's first HD-2D installment, launches in just a month from now on October 22, 2026, while Final Fantasy 14: Evercold arrives in January 2027 to begin the MMO's new Godless Realms Saga.

With several major releases packed into the coming months, Final Fantasy fans have a stacked calendar, but they're going to have to make some room, as November marks the official release of Final Fantasy: Memories Of Life.

Final Fantasy is celebrating a major milestone later this year with Memories of Life, the next full booster set for Square Enix's long-running FFTCG. Currently scheduled to release on November 13, 2026 (although Square Enix describes that date as tentative), Memories of Life will be the 30th installment in the game's Opus series and arrives almost exactly 10 years after the current version of FFTCG debuted with Opus 1 in October 2016.

Memories of Life contains 118 standard card types alongside 167 premium cards, including 35 full-art premium cards, one Noir card, and one Special card. Each booster contains 12 cards with at least one premium card guaranteed, while a full display box contains 18 booster packs.

One of the biggest gameplay additions is the return of multi-element non-LB cards. Recent expansions have largely reserved multi-element designs for Limit Break cards, so their return to the regular card pool should come as welcome news for longtime players. The set will also contain premium versions of all 12 exclusive cards from October's Final Fantasy 14: Heavensward Starter Set, including five with newly commissioned artwork.

Collectors have several notable chase cards to look forward to as well: Shantotto [30-080L] from Final Fantasy 11 serves as the set's Special card and features a gold-foil-stamped signature from artist Fumio Minagawa. Sephiroth [7-034L] is the latest entry in the returning Noir series, while Tifa [20-077L], Cyan [21-004L], and Vegnagaen [25-105L] return as premium full-art Legacy Cards. New artwork covers games including Final Fantasy 2, 3, 10, 11, Final Fantasy Tactics S, and even Brave Exvius.

For newcomers, the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game brings characters and concepts from throughout Final Fantasy into a competitive card game built around six core Elements. Standard play uses 50-card decks, with players typically winning by dealing seven points of damage to their opponent. A decade of expansions has given it an enormous cast of characters from across the franchise, making Memories of Life both another major gameplay expansion and a celebration of how far the TCG has come since its launch 10 years ago in 2016.
