Mercy Wachira’s Mother Appeals for Help to Fulfil Daughter’s Wishes

Grace Nyambura Nderitu, the mother of Mercy Wachira Maina, has made an emotional appeal to Kenyans for support following the death of her daughter, whose decomposed body was discovered in a Lavington apartment after reportedly remaining undiscovered for about a month.

Speaking in a video shared by MC Chris Kirubi Junior on Sunday, September 13, 2026, Nderitu introduced herself as Mercy’s mother and spoke about the devastating loss of her second-born daughter.

“Hello Kenyans. I am Grace Nyambura Nderitu from Othaya, and I am the mum of Mercy Wachira Maina, the young girl who was found dead in Lavington,” she said.

Nderitu said Mercy had played an important role in her life and had supported her in several ways, making her death particularly painful.

“Mercy was helping me a lot and she was so important to me. She was the second-born,” she added.

Mother seeks support from Kenyans

The grieving mother appealed to well-wishers to assist her with whatever they could as she works to fulfil what she described as her daughter’s wishes.

“I am appealing to Kenyans to help me with what they have and can, so I can be able to meet her will. And may God bless you. My number is 0710697437,” she said.

Nderitu, who comes from Othaya, said any assistance would help her navigate the difficult period following her daughter’s death.

She also asked God to bless those who would stand with her and offer support during the challenging time.

MC Chris Kirubi urges Kenyans to support grieving mother

Sharing the video, MC Chris Kirubi Junior reminded his followers of the circumstances surrounding Mercy’s death and urged them to extend support to her mother.

Kirubi said Mercy’s body had been discovered in a decomposed state after remaining undiscovered for about a month, identifying the woman in the video as her mother.

“You all remember Mercy, whose body was found decomposed for one month. That is her. And never judge people because personally I do not judge, because I know whatever people are going through out here,” he said.

The MC also used the opportunity to caution social media users against making quick judgements about people without understanding the challenges they may be facing privately.

“I see many people in the comments, and life can push you to the end until you decide it is over,” he said.

Kirubi said difficult circumstances can sometimes overwhelm people to a point that those around them may not fully understand.

He therefore called for greater compassion when discussing the struggles of others, particularly on social media.

Appeal for support

Kirubi said he had pinned Nderitu’s phone number to make it easier for Kenyans who wished to assist her to reach out directly.

“Now that is her mum, and I have pinned her number so you all can support her,” he shared.
