Coronation Street newcomer Lucy Parkinson makes startling admission in early ITVX release
Did Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin) kill her own mum in Coronation Street?
It certainly looks that way, after a very telling conversation with dad Richie (Nathan Sussex).
Last month, Rachel, the wife of Richie – Tim Metcalfe's (Joe Duttine) cousin – was murdered. The newcomer had spent a few nights kipping on the sofa at No. 4 due to issues in his marriage, and Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) told her husband that it was time for him to leave.
When Tim helped his cousin into a cab, he urged him not to give up on his relationship with wife Rachel and to make amends.
Hours later, Tim found Rachel's body on the kitchen floor.
The Metcalfes have since taken in their teenage daughter Lucy, who has shown a number of worrying behavioural traits. She hasn't taken kindly to the couple's other foster children, and has behaved erratically with Sally.
In today's episode, her attitude worsened. While Sally looked over Lucy's art project, she noticed that the drawing depicted an angry woman with her head in her hands.
Sally wondered who the subject was, and when asked whether it could be Rachel, an enraged Lucy threw her phone across the room. It hit a mortified Sally in the face, and she quickly relayed the troubling encounter to Tim.
He wanted to address the violent act, and when the teen apologised, he took her back under his wing. Sally wasn't as convinced by her words, and suggested contacting social services to see whether her situation could be reassessed.
It was evident to Sally that Lucy needed professional help.
Later that night, Lucy was thrilled to get a call from her dad in prison. She's wanted to speak to him for weeks, and finally, upon making contact, made a rather telling comment. After explaining about her earlier altercation with Sally, she became concerned that she might end up doing the same to her as she did to her mum.
Could this mean that Lucy was responsible for the death?
