Ampang Jaya police probe viral TikTok assault and multi-car collision

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — Police are investigating a case of vandalism and voluntarily causing hurt after a car collided with several parked vehicles and a related assault, which went viral on TikTok.

Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said in a statement today that the incident happened on September 26 at about 7am, when the complainant picked up a female friend, identified only as Nadia, from her home to go hiking at Bukit Melati, Nilai.

After the hike, the complainant drove Nadia home to Pangsapuri Sri Intan. There, the complainant was approached by three men, one of whom knocked on the driver's-side window and told the complainant to get out.

The complainant, who did not know the men, became frightened and accelerated forward, hitting several cars parked at the location.

The statement said one of the men then stood on the car's bonnet and was struck by three unidentified men in front of Orkid Apartment. The incident was later shared widely on TikTok.

Police are investigating under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief causing loss or damage, which carries a jail term of up to five years, a fine, or both. They are also investigating under Section 323 for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries up to one year in jail, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.

Khairul Anuar urged members of the public with information on the case to come forward to assist investigators. He also advised the public not to speculate about the incident.
