Kid Rock Drops Christian Music Album with Eminem Collaboration “Heal My Faith”

Kid Rock has officially released his new Christian music album, Halfway 2 Jesus, which boasts collaborations with Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Jimmie Allen.
In a social media video shared ahead of the album’s release, Kid Rock explained that he wanted to bring together collaborators from different backgrounds. “Not only the special guests — the musicians, the songwriters, the engineers, everybody involved in this record — we all don’t think the same,” he said. “Plenty of us think differently. All different backgrounds, everything, different politics. We’re able to come together and make this beautiful body of work that I’m so proud of.”
In the case of Eminem, the goal was to bridge a political divide. Kid Rock is an ardent supporter of Donald Trump, while Eminem has been a vocal critic of the president and even once received a visit from the Secret Service over lyrics referencing Trump.
“I’m proud of the guests who joined me, especially my old friend Eminem,” Kid Rock wrote in the album’s foreword. “His verse speaks to something we’ve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we’ve stayed friends through it all . . . We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently.”
On “Heal My Faith,” Eminem begins his verse by reflecting on his history with Kid Rock, crediting him as one of his earliest supporters: “The Viper Room release party for my CD/ The Slim Shady EP, Kid came to see me/ I was nobody, he came to my show to see me/ Was dope ‘cause it seemed like a sign from Jehovah to me.”
Later, Eminem reinforces the song’s message, expressing hope that their friendship can inspire others to put aside their differences: “He is my brother, not my political enemy/ B.O. to the B., we wrote this for those who believe/ In G.O. to the D, however you voted or lean/ Liberal and evangelical can agree/ It’s God first, home of the free.”
The track ends with Kid Rock driving home that message in a spoken-word outro: “Now that I have your attention, I love Eminem/ We’ve been friends for, uh, many years/ Thinking differently and having the freedom to do so/ Is what makes this country great/ God bless the U.S.A.”
Eminem also addressed the collaboration on social media, writing, “Not about choosing sides, just choosing to make music with my old friend. Praying for all of us.”
