Sonali Kulkarni says actor has to like a yogi, do his or her job amid mixed reviews for 'Paradise'

Sonali Kulkarni, who portrayed Samakka, Jadal's (character played by Nani) mother in the recently released film 'Paradise,' which is directed by Srikanth Odela, has opened up about the mixed reviews surrounding the film and whether such reactions affect actors.

She also spoke about why actors need to accept that every film may not receive unanimous appreciation, regardless of how sincerely they approach their work.

Talking about the initial response to 'Paradise,' Sonali said she found the mixed reviews interesting while highlighting the film’s box office performance. “The mixed reviews were coming on day one. And I'm very happy that right from day one, the box office reviews are absolutely glorious.

And I'm very happy for my producer,” she said.

Sonali Kulkarni feels the effect in the film is not predictable

According to Sonali, an actor can put in immense intensity and sincerity while working on a character, but the final impact of that performance depends on several factors beyond the actor’s control. She pointed out that an actor’s performance is influenced by how the character fits into the larger story and how different departments contribute to the final film.“For an actor, yes, absolutely, you must be ready to receive an audience poll in the sense that at times, how much intensity or sincerity you have shown while working, the effect in the film is not predictable, how you suit the entire story, or how you have sketched your character, how the editor has given you justice, how the director has treated your character, many things are quite dependent and interdependent,” she said.

Sonali believes that actors must focus on the work rather than trying to predict how audiences or critics will respond to the finished product. She compared an actor’s approach to that of a yogi, emphasizing dedication and the importance of accepting the outcome.“So an actor has to, like a yogi, do his or her job with utmost dedication. And that's about it,” she concluded.With 'Paradise,' Sonali has once again taken on a layered role in a story led by Nani. The film also stars Raghav Juyal and explores a tense, emotionally charged narrative, with the actors’ performances being an important part of the film’s reception.
