Translate

Channel 4 has announced scheduling changes tonight (Thursday 5 November) following the verdict of Russell Brand’s trial this afternoon.

The 51-year-old was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault, following a four-week-long trial at Southwark Crown Court. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Highlights from Gogglebox season 28 episode 9 will be airing at 23.10 tonight in place of the full show. This is to make way for Russell Brand: In Plain Sight, which is scheduled to air on the channel at 11.40pm.

The 2023 documentary detailed allegations of rape, sexual assault and abuse against Brand.

Also showing tonight at 7pm will be Russell Brand Convicted: Channel 4 News Special.

In April 2025, Brand was charged with five offences – rape, oral rape, indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault – relating to four women between 1999 and 2005.

In December 2025, Brand was charged with two further offences – rape and sexual assault – relating to two more women in 2009.

Today (Thursday 5 November), a jury found the former comedian guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault, following a four-week trial at Southwark Crown Court. He was acquitted of the other charges.

Brand has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Monday.

Following his conviction, it has been revealed that Brand is under investigation for two more alleged rapes and could face more charges.
