Turkey has dismissed national football team head coach Vincenzo Montella following a disappointing run of results, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced on Friday.
The federation confirmed that its executive board had decided to end its association with the Italian manager but did not provide a specific reason for the decision or announce his successor.
Montella, who was appointed in September 2023, enjoyed early success with Turkey, guiding the national side to the quarterfinals of the 2024 European Championship.
However, the team’s performances have declined in recent months, with Turkey suffering four consecutive defeats in the UEFA Nations League.

The latest setback came on Tuesday when Turkey went down 3-1 to Italy, adding to the pressure on the 52-year-old coach.
Turkey also endured a disappointing campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, exiting the tournament in the group stage.
Montella’s departure brings an end to his three-year tenure, with the federation yet to confirm who will take charge of the national team.
