SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — The observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day across Caraga (Region 13) was generally peaceful and orderly, with over 350,000 people visiting cemeteries and memorial parks, the Police Regional Office -13 (PRO-13) said Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon, PRO-13 director, said no untoward or major peace and order incidents were recorded during the four-day holiday monitoring period.

“The observance was generally peaceful, with no significant incidents recorded. This success is attributed to our early preparations, coordinated deployment, and strict security operations with partner agencies,” Suguilon said.

Data from the PRO-13 Regional Operations Division showed an estimated 358,405 visitors trooped to public and private burial grounds across the region from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.

The influx peaked on All Souls’ Day, Nov. 2, with 193,321 visitors, following 105,281 recorded on All Saints’ Day, Nov. 1. Earlier crowds were logged at 44,767 on Oct. 31; 14,341 on Oct. 30; and 695 on Oct. 29.

To maintain peace and order, PRO-13 deployed 6,486 personnel from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 to different cemeteries, memorial parks, transportation terminals, major thoroughfares, and key public convergence hubs.

Suguilon also credited the public for cooperating with the security measures and adhering to regulations implemented inside memorial grounds. INQ
