From Kuching to Subang Jaya, Toyota’s pickleball tour brings Malaysians together

SUBANG JAYA, Sept 28 — The Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 has wrapped up its five-city run, bringing pickleball to more than 1,500 participants across Sarawak, Sabah, Johor, Penang and Selangor.

The tour, which began in Kuching before moving to Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru and George Town, concluded in Subang Jaya after bringing together players from communities across East and West Malaysia.

Organised by UMW Toyota Motor with support from the Youth and Sports Ministry, the tour saw 637 adults and 289 juniors compete across the five locations, while another 177 participants joined coaching clinics.

The junior categories were open to players from seven years old, while the adult team format included players aged 50 and above.

The tour featured a RM175,000 prize pool across separate adult and junior categories, with winners recognised at each leg.

Its defining adult format, “Solo Entry. Team Glory”, saw participants register individually before being grouped into teams for competition.

UMW Toyota Motor president Datuk Ravindran K. said the tour had grown into a community platform in its second year, reaching communities across East and West Malaysia and bringing Toyota’s Mobility for All vision to life through opportunities for Malaysians to stay active and connect through sport.

The tour was supported by official tournament partner Joola, along with Fred Perry, and Milo, among other partners.
