Sarawak stays hazy with 11 areas showing poor air quality

Sarawak remained hazy today with 11 locations in the state occupying the top 15 spots for poor air quality.
The air quality in Serian remained very unhealthy, with an API reading of 216 as of 3.30pm.
Meanwhile, 10 of the 14 areas recording unhealthy air quality are in Sarawak, with their API readings ranging from 151 to 184.
Topping the list is Samarahan with an API reading of 184, followed by Kuching (182), Sri Aman (181), Sarikei (161), Samalaju (160), Sibu (157), Bintulu and Mukah (155), Miri (152) and ILP Miri (151).
The other three areas are Pasir Gudang, Johor (138), Johan Setia, Selangor (108) and Politeknik Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (102).
Forty-six areas in the peninsula had moderate air quality, and eight had good air quality.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and above 300 hazardous.
