Enyimba seek back-to-back wins
Enyimba will look to build on their confidence-boosting midweek victory when they host five-match unbeaten Plateau United in an NPFL Matchday 7 clash at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, on Sunday (today), PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The People’s Elephant ended a difficult start to the campaign with a 4-2 victory over Shooting Stars in midweek and will be hoping to build on the result after winning just once in their opening six matches.
Enyimba currently sit 19th with four points and will be looking to claim another three points at home as they attempt to climb away from the bottom end of the table.
Standing in their way are a Plateau United side enjoying a contrasting start to the season. The Peace Boys are fourth with 11 points and are unbeaten in their last five league matches after losing their opener to Rivers United.
Gbenga Ogunbote’s men have won three of those five matches, drawing twice, including a 2-2 comeback draw away to Doma United after falling two goals behind.

They followed that result with a 2-0 victory over Inter Lagos at the New Jos Stadium, with Gideon Monday and Jibril Ibrahim getting the goals to move Plateau United into the top four.
The visitors will arrive in Aba with confidence, but Enyimba’s four-goal haul against Shooting Stars has provided the hosts with a timely attacking boost.
The last two meetings between the sides have produced one victory apiece, with Plateau United winning 2-1 in Jos in October 2025 before Enyimba responded with a 2-0 victory in Aba in March 2026.
With Enyimba seeking back-to-back wins and Plateau United determined to preserve their unbeaten run, both sides have plenty at stake in what promises to be a competitive encounter.
The NPFL Matchday 7 encounter will be played at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, on Sunday, October 4, with kick-off scheduled for 4pm WAT.
