First trailer for Narnia: The Magician's Nephew

The first trailer has landed for Greta Gerwig's Narnia: The Magician's Nephew. The Netflix film sees Gerwig reunite with Barbie star Emma Mackey in the adaptation of CS Lewis' 1955 book of the same name.
Mackey stars as Jadis, the future White Witch, in the film that serves as a prequel of sorts before to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The plot focuses on Aslan's creation of Narnia, with the great lion being voiced by none other than Meryl Streep.

Beatrice Campbell and David McKenna play Polly Plummer and Digory Kirke, with Daniel Craig as Andrew Ketterley, Digory's uncle and the titular magician.
As the trailer shows, the film will see Polly and Digory discover the Wood between the World (Narnia) through a magic ring given to them by Uncle Andrew.
Mackey's Jadis is seen in the trailer sporting short black hair and wearing a metallic, armour-like minidress, a far cry from the image of the White Witch.
The film's incredible visuals are soundtracked by Led Zeppelin classic 'Stairway to Heaven', which the band have never before allowed to be used in a movie.
The Magician's Nephew's cast also includes Carey Mulligan as Digory's mum, as well as Game of Thrones' Ciarán Hinds, The Sheep Detectives star Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Andor's Denise Gough and Enola Holmes' Susan Wokoma.
Gerwig previously spoke about wanting the film to be "big and transporting" and feel like a "rock opera," while discussing her influences.

"David Bowie saved my life. Paul McCartney saved my life. David Gilmour saved my life. Pete Townshend saved my life. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant," Gerwig said. "When I heard their music, I had this deep sense of [thinking], ‘You’re gonna be OK’.
"Narnia is literally a world made out of music,"she added. "It is a world sung to life by Aslan, and rock ’n’ roll to me felt like a world made out of music."
Narnia: The Magician's Nephew debuts in cinemas and IMAX on 12 February 2027 and then on Netflix from 2 April 2027.
