Iheanacho Explains Decision To Join Bursaspor Ahead Of Celtic
Kelechi Iheanacho has opened up on his decision to join Turkish second-division side Bursaspor after leaving Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.
The Nigeria international spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, where he played an important role in the club’s domestic success.
The 30-year-old striker scored nine goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for the Hoops before making a surprise move to Bursaspor in the summer.
His departure came after Celtic delayed offering him a new contract, paving the way for the forward to begin a new chapter in Turkey.
Iheanacho has made an impressive start to life at Bursaspor, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists in 12 league appearances.

Iheanacho Speaks On Bursaspor Transfer
Speaking about his decision to join the Turkish outfit, the striker revealed that he was not actively thinking about his future during the summer transfer window.
“To be fair, I don’t talk about transfers. I really try to concentrate on my football. The transfer talks were done with the agents and directors,” Iheanacho told Bursaspor TV.
“Of course, I am aware of the transfer talks. I don’t really know how they were contacted, but I was told by my agent that Bursaspor were in contact. He explained everything to me in detail. I was happy, and I said yes.
“It’s a good and interesting place, according to how he told me about it. We went through everything together, and we saw it was a very concrete situation.”
