Narvacan holds bagnet boodle fight to promote local product

SAN ILDEFONSO, ILOCOS SUR, Philippines — Local government officials and employees of Narvacan, along with representatives from the Department of Tourism and other guests, joined a Bagnet Boodle Fight as part of the town’s Bagnet Festival on Sunday, Sept. 27.

The boodle fight featured bagnet, chicharon, paksiw na okra, tomatoes and bagoong.

Members of the Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection also joined the communal feast.

Mayor Edna Cabalo Sanidad said the annual Bagnet Festival would help promote Narvacan’s local product while showcasing the town’s culture and community spirit.

She said the boodle fight also symbolized unity as residents and guests gathered around a shared meal.

Sanidad led the preparation and arrangement of the food for the boodle fight, with the assistance of members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Sangguniang Kabataan and the Association of Barangay Captains.

Municipal Administrator Atty. Jamyrah Sanidad also joined local government employees in preparing and organizing the activity.

The LGU employees worked together to ensure the orderly staging of the boodle fight, which served as one of the highlights of the Narvacan Bagnet Festival. /cb
