Aerosmith Share Rehearsal Pics Ahead of Comeback Gigs, Confirm Joey Kramer’s Return

Aerosmith have shared photos from their rehearsals ahead of a pair of upcoming comeback shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The pics confirm that recently-estranged original drummer Joey Kramer is back in the band.
As previously reported, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act will play two nights at the Hollywood Bowl on October 29th and November 1st. The gigs are being billed as “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends,” and feature a lineup that includes Guns N’ Roses, Sammy Hagar, Jerry Cantrell, Heart, The Black Crowes, Run-DMC, Andrew Watt, Billy Idol, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan, Eric Church, and more.
In a social media post (see below), Aerosmith shared a number of pictures from their rehearsals taken by famed photographer Ross Halfin, with one depicting all five classic members of the band — Kramer, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, and Tom Hamilton — with smiles on their faces.
Kramer had been estranged from Aerosmith in recent years. He originally stepped away from the band to deal with health issues, but then engaged in legal wrangling with his bandmates. Now, it appears as if there’s nothing but sweet emotion between the band members.
While Kramer did appear in a publicity photo released with the announcement of the two concerts, the new rehearsal pics confirm he’s back behind the drum kit for Aerosmith.
The shows will mark the first Aerosmith gigs since Tyler’s vocal injury put an abrupt end to their farewell tour right as it began in September 2023, and the first with Kramer since February 2020.
Since the band halted its farewell tour, Tyler has performed at a few benefit gigs and awards ceremonies, as well as the “Back to the Beginning” concert, where his voice sounded very strong.
