DJ Akademiks' account is in legal trouble after a post claimed that a former partner of streamer Sneako has around 100GB of intimate footage and may release it. Sneako's attorney, Hassan Shibly of Muslim Legal, answered on October 29 with a formal demand to take the post down, and he warned that threats involving private sexual material can carry federal criminal consequences. AkademiksTV said no. Its argument was that it reported an allegation and never threatened to publish any footage itself. So the fight is now about where reporting an alleged threat ends and the protection of private material begins.

Sneako's attorney demands removal and warns about federal laws covering threats involving intimate material
Shibly's legal notice demanded that AkademiksTV “IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THIS POST AND CEASE PROMOTING THREATS TO RELEASE PURPORTED SEXUALLY EXPLICIT MATERIAL INVOLVING MY CLIENT.” A legal notice like this is a written demand, not a court order.
He argued that publishing sensationalized, unverified allegations next to suggestive images raised serious legal concerns.
He also warned that threatening to release private sexual material can itself be federal crime, even if the material never becomes public.
The notice pointed to federal and Florida laws on threats involving intimate imagery, including certain AI-generated or manipulated depictions, and Shibly reserved right to pursue civil remedies or refer the matter to law enforcement.
But the notice itself didn't confirm that the alleged footage exists, and it didn't establish authenticity or validate the accusations against Sneako.
AkademiksTV rejects the takedown demand as the online feud continues
AkademiksTV pushed back in public, saying its post described an alleged third-party threat and didn't make or encourage one.
The account argued that reporting an allegation involving a public figure is protected by the First Amendment and does not automatically amount to distributing intimate imagery or helping commit a crime.
Its response stated: “The post reports an allegation of a third-party threat; it does not make or promote the threat.”
It also refused the broad removal demand, though it said it was open to discussing specific statements alleged to be false. On whether any purported material exists, the account declined to confirm or deny.
All of this sits inside a wider clash between Akademiks and Sneako.
Posts from AkademiksTV on October 27 had already circulated allegations involving 10 anonymous men and Sneako's alleged private relationships, but those claims also remain unverified.
As of this writing, no footage matching the 100GB claim has been publicly released or independently authenticated. Shibly has also called for evidence preservation, including relevant communications and file metadata.
