The Blood of Dawnwalker has proven to be this year's biggest surprise hit, winning over fans and critics alike with its unique vampire-based gameplay, amazing story and characters, and original world. Further, the game's unique day and night mechanics, choice-based gameplay where your decisions seem to truly impact the story and world around you, and the fact developers didn't shy away from macabre and adult themes all have proven a deadly combination that gamers can't get enough of.
That said, Rebel Wolves made it clear early on that Coen's journey was just the beginning of a larger series, and it's no secret that future The Blood of Dawnwalker sequels are planned. It's a good sign for the studio that gamers are already looking forward to the next chapter, but Rebel Wolves actually already gave us a massive spoiler for the next game, and it's hidden in a post-credits scene that many players may have missed (or haven't arrived at yet).
!!! WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE BLOOD OF DAWNWALKER !!

There are several different endings to The Blood of Dawnwalker, and even a few secret endings that players may have to do some digging to figure out. The most straightforward endings will see Coen take on Brencis with some of his allies, either Crake and the Manumits, Lacra, or the Priesthood and Father Florin. Alternatively, players can go the Folk Hero route and defeat Brencis all on their own, or even decide to cut a deal with the Vrakhir and save Coen's family without putting up a fight.
Players can even decide to just abandon Vale Sangora all together if they want, which is devastating to the region, but is low-key kind of a hilarious option to have and is a good example of the sort of freedom players get in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
That said, no matter what your path or choice when it comes to dealing with Brencis and the Vrakhiri Court, the future of The Blood of Dawnwalker series is set up in the same post-credits scene that sees a massive jump forward in time. After the credits, players get a short cutscene that sees Coen in a modern-day setting, with details that imply this is where we're headed next in the series. You can watch the end credit scene below courtesy of El Chiefo on Youtube:
As you can see, the scene heavily implies that we'll be picking up Coen's story many years in the future from Vale Sangora's timeline, and that there's a much more ominous threat waiting in the modern-day timeline. Coen says, "You don't give up easy, eh?" and then goes on to say, "Well, neither do I."
It's currently unclear exactly who the floating enemy is outside Coen's window at the moment, but the dialogue suggests this could be a returning villain from the first game, a new enemy that the Auggers have tasked him with defeating, or the Arbiters themselves. Either way, the implications of a modern-day setting for The Blood of Dawnwalker are very exciting given the game's various mechanics. Think about planewalking on skyscrapers downtown or shadowstepping through traffic in a busy street at night, etc.
While the setting for The Blood of Dawnwalker 2 hasn't been verified by Rebel Wolves just yet, this post-credits scene is too intriguing to be a red herring, and it's almost a certainty that the next game will take us to a modern-day metropolis to take on a new group of Vrakhiri foes.
