Hollyoaks confirms Kathleen-Angel twist as big new storyline kicks off

Hollyoaks has kicked off a big new storyline for Kathleen-Angel McQueen this week, as the Channel 4 soap aired a major twist.

The show previously set the scene as the youngster wondered that she might be pregnant with boyfriend Ant Hutchinson's baby, but hid the test before taking it.

Tonight's episode started with Dodger Savage and Cleo finding the test and thinking Theresa must be pregnant. That wasn't helped by Theresa's current craving for gherkins and turning down booze.

Later on, Kathleen-Angel sang for Ant, Dodger and Theresa, and they were all blown away by her ability.

"I'm just so chuffed that you're gonna make something of your talent rather than waste it by getting pregnant so young like I did," said an emotional Theresa.

Although she added that she didn't regret having her daughter "for a second", Kathleen-Angel was still thrown by the comment. She took herself upstairs to use the bathroom in peace, but got even more stressed when she noticed the test had gone missing.

Back downstairs, Cleo blurted out that she thought that she thought Theresa might be pregnant because she had found a test. After both women said that they definitely weren't pregnant, all eyes turned to Ant. And they weren't happy...

Ant went upstairs to talk to his girlfriend, who was taking another test, through the bathroom door.

"I want you to know that if it is positive then we're in it together, yeah? Everything's gonna be fine," he told her. "I'll get a job, I'll get two if needs be. I love you, Kathleen-Angel, and that's all that matters, alright?"

She told him to stop, as the test was negative. But viewers saw that the test had actually returned a positive result and she is in fact pregnant.

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
