It's hard to believe just how stratospheric the Dungeon Crawler Carl series has gone since its humble beginnings, with Matt Dinniman's unique take on the LitRPG genre capturing the hearts of millions of readers since the first book released back in 2020. Since then, the series has grown to eight novels, most recently with the May release of A Parade of Horribles.
Fans are now eagerly anticipating the bittersweet conclusion to Carl and Princess Donut's journey down the World Dungeon, with Dinniman planning an epic two-part finale that will bring the beloved saga to an end. Fortunately, the franchise itself is only getting started. Between the upcoming live-action television adaptation at Peacock and an expanding lineup of merch and collectibles, Dungeon Crawler Carl has officially become a multimedia phenomenon.
The franchise is also making the jump into gaming, with an exciting new release that will be especially appealing to longtime readers looking to experience the dungeon for themselves, with Carl's Enchanted BigBoi Boxers getting their own unique spotlight alongside the TTRPG's release in November (via Wayland Games).

The upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl tabletop RPG is shaping up to be one of the franchise's most exciting off-shoots yet, giving readers an opportunity to enter the World Dungeon themselves and even create their own crawlers inside Dinniman's universe. Developed by Renegade Game Studios, the RPG officially launches in November 2026, alongside a selection of accessories inspired by the books.
Among these is, of course, Carl's Enchanted Big Boi Boxers Dice Set, which is currently available for preorder ahead of the November release. The set pays homage to Carl's most emblematic pieces of gear, first introduced in the original Dungeon Crawler Carl novel after he and Donut take down the Krakaren clone.
Carl receives the Enchanted BigBoi Boxers after an exhausting run through the dungeon's second floor, receiving them as a reward from a boss box after seraching in earnest for a proper pair of pants since he first entered the Crawl. The enchanted underwear replaces his tarnished old boxers and gives him some useful magical enhancements that come in handy throughout the entire series.
Initially, the boxers grant Carl a +2 Constitution boost and the ability to cast a protective shell spell, which almost immediately saves his life after Jack decides to whip it out and pee on the wall (smh Jack). They eventually receive additional upgrades, improving his attributes and becoming increasingly valuable as they descend the floors.
The upcoming dice set recreates this fan-favorite piece of equipment through a collection of seven pearlescent white acrylic polyhedral dice with deep red detailing, alongside a poker-chip-style two-sided die. Priced at $25 through Renegade Game Studios, the collection includes a full set of standard dice-types, i.e., 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, 1d12, and 2d20. Better still, they're fully compatible with not only the upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG, but with just about any tabletop role-playing game out there.
The larger RPG release promises to recreate the dangerous, unpredictable experience of Borant's World Dungeon, complete with familiar enemies, characters, loot boxes, and opportunities for players to create their own crawlers. The introductory Starter Set focuses on the first two floors of the dungeon as outlined in the first book, featuring customizable characters, premade options for Carl and Donut, unique maps, and an introductory adventure. A separate Core Rulebook expands the experience into later floors.
With both the RPG and Carl's Enchanted BigBoi Boxers Dice Set scheduled for November 2026, fans won't have to wait much longer to experience the dungeon and get their hands dirty surviving and descending floors themselves in the very first gaming adaptation for the Dungeon Crawler Carl universe.
