Something Is Killing the Children has taken a major step toward the big screen thanks to Blumhouse.

During the BlumFest panel at NYCC, which ScreenRant's Jordan Williams attended, it was confirmed that Craig Zobel, known for his acclaimed work on the DC series The Penguin, will direct the comic book adaptation for the powerhouse horror studio, which begins production next year. Filming will start "as soon as the snow melts in our Archer's Peak," with the location still being determined. With Jason Blum, Zobel and comic creator James Tynion IV on stage, the group also confirmed that Octo will appear in the film.

Something is Killing the Children is a film adaptation of the acclaimed Boom! Studios ongoing comic series by writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell'Edera. In Wisconsin, children fall victim to an invisible monster that only children can see.
