Emma Roberts Celebrates Julia Roberts’ Birthday With Unseen Photo

Eric Roberts Speaks Out After Missing Daughter Emma Roberts’ Wedding
She’s just a niece, standing in front of an aunt, telling her how much she loves her.
Emma Roberts couldn’t let her aunt Julia Roberts’ 59th year go unrecognized, penning a festive tribute to her dad Eric Roberts’ sister.
“Happy birthday Aunt Julia,” Emma captioned an Oct. 28 Instagram post, alongside a crown emoji. “I love you beyond!!”
Accompanying the heartfelt note was a photo cute enough to make you scream, one in which Emma smiled wide as Julia held her close. The niece-aunt duo looked a matching set in complementary white outfits and golden blonde hair.
But the Scream alum’s post did more than just serves as birthday well wishes—it also garnered a thousand words from people remembering (and also learning) the pair were even related.
“I will never get over the fact they are related,” one user commented, while another added, “i was today years old when i found @emmaroberts & @juliaroberts we’re [sic] related.”
Many also referenced a recent line from Emma’s character Madison on the American Horror Story in which the witch, in an utterly meta moment, said, “Just like a Julia Roberts movie. I love her.”
But while the pair have kept their familial bond chill enough that it took some fans until Emma’s birthday tribute to understand that her and Julia’s matching last names aren’t just a coincidence, Julia, too, has made sure her love for her niece is known.

In fact, back in 2022 the Pretty Woman star penned her own birthday well wishes for her niece.
Alongside a slo-mo video of her and Emma blowing on noisemakers, Julia wrote, “Happy Birthday Magical One! Oh how I love you.”
Yet, it would be a big mistake (huge) to classify Emma as nothing more than a nepo baby. In fact, despite her star-studded immediate family, the Unfabulous star has always had a nuanced approach to fame—in part from seeing just how big her aunt’s star got.

“I saw very up close what that really looks like with my aunt Julia,” Emma told Vanity Fair in 2024. “It’s fun and it’s great, but there is a part of it that’s really scary. And so I’ve always wanted to kind of carve my own path…Fame has never been the goal, because fame at a certain level is kind of scary.”
As for the naysayers who hurl nepo baby accusations?
“People like to say, you know, you have a leg up because you have family in the industry,” Emma reflected. “But then the other side to that is, you know, you have to prove yourself more. Also, if people don’t have good experiences, maybe, with other people in your family, then you’ll never get a chance.”
Emma and Julia, however, aren’t the only Hollywood stars you may have forgotten share blood. Read on for more.
