The drug test of Reina Mercedes, Isabela Vice Mayor Harold Respicio at St. Luke’s Medical Center - Quezon City yielded "negative" results on Wednesday.
According to a copy of the drug test report, Respicio’s sample tested negative for the following:
- methamphetamine
- tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
- cocaine
- ecstasy
- benzodiazepines
- opiates
- propoxyphene
- tricyclic antidepressants
An official invoice was also shared by the local official showing that he paid ₱28,011 in cash for the drug-abuse screening.
Remulla had earlier urged the vice mayor to undergo screening following a heated confrontation during a Sangguniang Bayan session that went viral online.
“Ipapa-drug test ko muna, parang wala sa sarili,” Remulla told reporters in an ambush interview on Wednesday.
(I'll have him undergo a drug test first. He doesn’t seem like himself.)

The DILG chief added that while Isabela Governor Rodolfo Albano III is managing the local situation, he advised that Respicio be tested due to his conduct during the incident.
“But [Governor Rodolfo Albano is] handling him. I advise him to give him a drug test kasi mukhang adik yung asal niya eh,” Remulla added.

Respicio swiftly responded by challenging the DILG chief to a live, joint drug test at the hospital.
“Secretary Jonvic, magpa-drug test tayo now. Live! Exclusive! Samahan mo ko sa St. Luke’s, now! Today! Tignan natin kung nagdru-drugs si Atty. Harold Respicio,” Respicio said in a social media video.

Following his release of the negative results, the vice mayor called out Remulla over the expense incurred for the testing.
“Jonvic, i-refund mo ko. Ang mahal ng drug test,” Respicio said.
(Jonvic, refund me. Drug tests are expensive.)
This stemmed from a circulating video showing Respicio confronting local barangay officials over uncompleted projects intended for tobacco farmers during a council session. —VAL, GMA News
