Two Orlando Pirates legends leave feeder team

Translate

Orlando Pirates legend Joseph “Duku Duku” Makhanya has left the club’s feeder Pele Pele FC.

ORLANDO PIRATES LEGEND JOSEPH MAKHANYA LEAVES FEEDER TEAM

Makhanya had been redeployed to the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League outfit in September 2025.

This despite enjoying success with the Pirates DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team where he nurtured talent.

The likes of Mohau Nkota, Relebohile Mofokeng, Mbekezeli Mbokazi among others, were polished by Makhanya as head coach.

Pirates’ decision to replace him with Roscoe Krieling was seen as a strategic move for Makhanya to help Pele Pele gain promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

However, it appears that will not be achieved with Makhanya at the helm as he is no longer the club’s head coach.

Krieling won the DDC title with Pirates in his first season with the club but the foundation had already been laid by Makhanya.

MAKHANYA NOT THE ONLY BUCS LEGEND IN THE WILDERNESS

Meanwhile, Makhanya is not the only Pirates legend who mysteriously left Pele Pele FC in recent weeks.

Former midfield anchor Issa Sarr, who was Makhanya’s assistant, has also left the club for unknown reasons.

Sarr played for the Sea Robbers for four years between 2014 and 2018 after he was signed from the now defunct Platinum Stars.
