Germany Legend: Wirtz Would Fit In Well At Barca
Former Germany striker Oliver Bierhoff has backed Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz to make a future move to FC Barcelona.
Bierhoff stated in Sport Bild that Wirtz would be an ideal fit for Barcelona under German manager Hansi Flick, noting that Wirtz would find plenty of space and brilliant teammates in the Catalan setup.
“Our style of play suits Flo Wirtz. I don’t even know what Flo has to do right to make everyone happy. Everyone in Liverpool should be happy today.”
“Wirtz would fit in well, for example, at Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, where he’ll have space and fantastic teammates.
“(He) is a world-class player who now needs to prove it once again with consistent performances and by making his mark.”
Wirtz is currently a Liverpool player after joining Anfield in 2025, and there are no active negotiations or open transfer talks between Barcelona and Liverpool.

Hansi Flick previously worked with Wirtz during his tenure as coach of the German national team.
Wirtz has previously expressed a childhood admiration for Barcelona, though he chose Liverpool over other suitors (such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City) when leaving Germany in 2025.
