A Bride's Story Manga Gets New Volume Under New Publisher This Winter

The third volume of Kaoru Mori's Shirley (Shirley Medison) manga, the first new volume in 12 years for the manga, announced on Wednesday that the author's A Bride's Story (Otoyome-Gatari) manga will have a new volume.
The new volume will be titled Otoyome-Gatari Zoku no 1 (A Bride's Story Continues 1), and will debut in winter. The volume will contain three new chapters, and will have about 80 pages. The volume will be printed at a larger A4 size. As with the third Shirley volume, new publisher Yukiwarisō (Hepatica, Inc.) will release the new volume. The new chapters will not be serialized in a magazine first.
Mori plans to publish at least a 16th volume once enough chapters are completed. Kadokawa will continue to digitally publish the manga from the 16th volume onward.
The third volume of Shirley also announced that Shirley will also get new editions of the manga's first and second volumes, which will match the style of the new third volume (including the manga's new Shirley Medison title). Mori's earlier Victorian maid manga Emma will also have a planned collector's edition release.
The 24th A and B issues of Kadokawa's Aokishi magazine in February 2025 announced a renewal of the magazine, which saw some works continuing and other works going in a different direction. Among those works, both Mori and manga creator Aki Irie would no longer have their works published in the magazine. The magazine issues previously stated that Mori "plans to search for a new form of publication" for her manga, and also confirmed Irie would continue her works in the future.
Both A Bride's Story and Irie's Go with the Clouds, North by Northwest had moved to Aokishi from the Harta magazine when the former launched.
Mori (Emma, Shirley) launched A Bride's Story in 2008 in Kadokawa's Fellows! (later Harta) magazine. Yen Press is releasing the manga in English. The manga's 15th compiled book volume shipped in Japan in November 2024, and Yen Press released the volume in December 2025.
