Exclusive: Hollyoaks confirms dramatic fallout of Dodger and Cleo affair

Hollyoaks star Danny Mac has teased a dramatic climax to his character Dodger Savage's affair with Cleo McQueen, the cousin of his girlfriend Theresa.

Dodger and Cleo have been sneaking around for months, after initially striking up a connection during her then-girlfriend Sienna Blake's period of going missing, due to being kidnapped by her father Jez Blake and branded a serial killer.

In scenes airing next week, the secret lovebirds hatch a plan to announce the truth about their sordid romance to the family, as the pressure all gets too much and Cleo gives Dodger an ultimatum. When Dodger chooses Cleo over Theresa, they prepare to come clean – but will they?

Speaking exclusively to us at Inside Soap, Danny darkly hints that there'll be trouble on the horizon for his police officer alter-ego should his clandestine rendezvous be discovered by his girlfriend's notorious family.

"Of all the families to throw a cat amongst the pigeons in, this is not the best one!" Danny chuckles. "This is not going to be a good fallout in any possible way, is it? But then they’ve all done it before – they’re all as bad as each other! It’s always going to be drama because it’s the McQueens, but they’re all just as guilty."

Cleo is also the ex-girlfriend of Dodger's murderous twin sister Sienna Blake, who Danny reckons will "definitely" have a bad reaction if she finds out about his relationship with Cleo.

"Dodger will be like, 'Do not even come at me about this!'" Danny teases. "He’ll be taking the moral high ground. The things she’s done are much worse, so she doesn’t have a leg to stand on!"
