Juventus have officially confirmed that Argentina international Nico Gonzalez has signed a new contract with the club which will run until the end of the 2029-30 season.
Nico Gonzalez has re-established himself as a reliable option for Juventus under Luciano Spalletti in the early stages of the 2026-27 season after spending the 2025-26 season out on loan with Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine had joined Juve in the summer of 2025, but was allowed to leave on loan the following year after an underwhelming first campaign in Turin that was impacted by injuries and managerial changes.
Nico Gonzalez enjoyed his time with Atletico Madrid, but did not quite make the required number of LaLiga appearances for his obligation to buy clause to be triggered. According to reports over the summer, Atletico Madrid had made further attempts to bring Nico Gonzalez back on a permanent basis, but for a fee that would have been significantly lower than the €32m obligation to buy clause.
In the end, an agreement was not found and Nico Gonzalez eventually returned to training with the Bianconeri in Turin.
Since then, and following injuries to several key Juventus attackers, including star man Kenan Yildiz, Spalletti has become increasingly reliant on Nico Gonzalez, who has made five appearances across all competitions already this season and has started in the last three Serie A matches.

Juventus have now taken the decision to offer the Argentina international a new contract, effectively confirming his place as a valued member of the squad. His new deal will run until the summer of 2030.
What Juventus said about Nico Gonzalez’s new contract

“Nico Gonzalez has signed a new contract! The Argentine and Juventus have come to an agreement on a new deal that will run until June 30, 2030,” read a statement on the club website.
“The new contract confirms the desire to build on the journey that began in the summer of 2024 when Nico first arrived in Turin. Since then, the 28-year-old has made a total of 45 appearances and scored seven goals for Juventus, making a significant contribution at the start of this season too, with two goals from five appearances so far.
“His playing style brings unpredictability and tactical options to the forward line as the Bianconeri face a busy season, combined with the experience and character that make him a valuable figurehead for the squad, both on and off the pitch.
