#NSTviral: Horror on weekdays as The Weeknd's concerts jam up Bukit Jalil

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic in Bukit Jalil was congested for two consecutive nights as concertgoers headed to The Weeknd's shows at TM Stadium Nasional.

Social media users shared videos and photos of long lines of vehicles in and around the area, with one saying they had been stuck for an hour.

The Canadian singer is performing at the stadium on Nov 4 and Nov 5 as part of the final leg of his After Hours Til Dawn tour.

The second show was added after strong demand for the first.

Threads user @eydafaidah shared videos of vehicles queuing in Bukit Jalil last night.

"It's been an hour and I'm still stuck in Bukit Jalil! The Weeknd concert, but why hold it on a Wednesday!" the user posted.

The post has since garnered more than 41,000 views.

Another Threads user, @asyiqinrahim, shared a video of heavy traffic on the Maju Expressway.

"Right after the toll, the whole stretch of the Maju Expressway was jammed all the way to Bukit Jalil," the user posted.

Threads user @nratiesha shared photos taken from a height showing long lines of vehicles on roads in Bukit Jalil.

"Stuck, eh. Where are you all going in such large numbers?" the user posted.

Rapid KL had extended operating hours on selected rail lines on both concert nights, with the last train from the Bukit Jalil LRT station on the Sri Petaling Line departing at 12.30am.

The operator also urged concertgoers to use its Park and Ride facilities to ease congestion around Bukit Jalil.
