Chiranjeevi’s ‘Kaaka’ enters dubbing phase ahead of Sankranti release

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Telugu action entertainer 'Kaaka' is progressing towards its Sankranti 2027 release. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film has now entered the dubbing phase, with post-production work also moving ahead simultaneously, according to a report by IANS.

The latest development comes as the team continues to work towards its January 13, 2027 theatrical release.

According to IANS, the cast of Kaaka has begun dubbing following a traditional pooja ceremony. The report adds that other post-production activities are being carried out alongside the dubbing process as the makers work towards completing the film in time for its Sankranti release.The team had announced a lengthy and crucial shooting schedule beginning September 7 in Hyderabad.

With the January 13 release date already confirmed, the production has been progressing with filming and post-production being handled alongside each other.

‘Kaaka’ interval fight reportedly shot on a grand scale

Recent reports surrounding 'Kaaka' suggest that the first half culminates in a major action sequence. The interval block has reportedly been filmed on a large scale and is expected to be one of the film’s significant action set pieces. The latest reports also claim that the initial footage has given the team confidence as the film balances action with entertainment and emotional elements.

Chiranjeevi plays Kadiri Kalidas in ‘Kaaka’

'Kaaka' marks the second collaboration between Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli after their 2023 film Waltair Veerayya. Chiranjeevi recently revealed that his character is named Kadiri Kalidas, adding another layer of intrigue to the protagonist introduced in the film’s first glimpse.The title glimpse, however, introduces Chiranjeevi as K Satyam, a supervisor working at Ammaji Aqua Industries.

The character initially appears to lead an ordinary working-class life, before the glimpse hints at a more action-oriented side to him.Anaswara Rajan plays a pivotal role in the film, while Nivetha Pethuraj is also part of the cast. Other members of the ensemble include Sunil, Getup Srinu and Rachita Ram, according to earlier reports.

What happens in the ‘Kaaka’ title glimpse?

The Kaaka glimpse begins with Chiranjeevi’s Satyam working as a supervisor at Ammaji Aqua Industries, an aquaculture company.

He is shown interacting with his colleagues and handling the responsibilities of his job. The sequence takes a dramatic turn when a key falls into a tank filled with shrimp. Satyam uses a large magnet to retrieve it, but the device also pulls out a collection of weapons from the water, suggesting that there is much more to his seemingly ordinary character.The glimpse also features a keychain carrying the words ‘I love dad’, adding an emotional element to the otherwise action-heavy reveal.

The video subsequently presents Chiranjeevi in a younger, more stylish avatar, teasing the contrast between the two shades of his character.

The makers have officially locked 'Kaaka' for a worldwide theatrical release on January 13, 2027, during the Sankranti festive season. The production house reaffirmed the date in September after speculation about a possible change in the release schedule. 'Kaaka' is produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions. The film reunites Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli after Waltair Veerayya, while Thaman is composing the music.
