Disney+ Seals EMEA Deal For Season 1 Of TF1 Hit ‘Cat’s Eyes’ As Season 2 Gets October Launch Date

EXCLUSIVE: Disney+ has acquired EMEA rights to season one of TF1’s hit show Cat’s Eyes, about three art thief sisters, in a deal that will make the show available in the UK and Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux, Central Europe, Türkiye and South Africa from December 2026.

The TF1-backed show – produced by Paris-based Big Band Story – first launched in France in November 2024 on TF1, with the second window in the territory then acquired by Prime Video.

It went on to sell into more than 30 territories including the U.S. (Hulu), Switzerland (RTS), Belgium (RTL) and Italy (RAI), but has never been available in territories such as the UK and Ireland.

News of the Disney+ EMEA deal for season one comes as TF1 gears up to launch season two, with the announcement today of a big event launch in France on October 12.

Additionally, Disney+ has also announced its involvement in season two, which TF1 is coproducing once again with ZDF. It has also already been pre-bought by Rai, AMC Global Media Iberia, RTL TVI and RTS.

Based on the eponymous cult 1980s manga by Tsukasa Hojo, Cat’s Eyes revolves around three sisters who embark on a series of spectacular art heists to collect all the works belonging to their missing father.

Season two sees Camille Lou, Constance Labbé and Claire Romain reprise their roles as the sibling robbers, with the ensemble cast also featuring MB14, Elodie Fontan, Tamara Marthe, Tom Leeb, Arnaud Binard, Lola Dewaere, Jérôme Le Banner, Simon Ehrlacher and Léon Plazol.

While first season saw the action confined to Paris with heists taking place in landmark sites such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Palace of Versailles, season two travels further afield to open with a daring operation on the Mont St Michel and features other locations across France.

Hopes are high for season two after the first season drew an average of 5.3 million viewers, with a peak of 6.7 million for the premiere, and also appealed to a hard to please young adult demographic, capturing an average 41% audience share among 15- to 24-year-olds.

The eight-part second season is created by Michel Catz and lead produced by Benjamin Dupont-Jubien and Mehdi Sabbar at Big Band Story. Alexandre Laurent, whose credits include Women at War, The Bonfire of Destiny and Falco, has returned to direct.
