Done Deal: Awoniyi Joins Coventry City On Permanent Transfer
Coventry City have announced the signing of Nigeria international Taiwo Awoniyi on a permanent transfer from Nottingham Forest, Completesports.com reports.
Awoniyi brings an end to his four-year association with Nottingham Forest following his move to the Premier League newcomers.
The striker joined Forest from Bundesliga side Union Berlin in 2022 and played a key role during his time at the City Ground.
Awoniyi scored 11 goals in his debut campaign, helping the Tricky Trees retain their Premier League status in their first season back in the top flight. He also contributed to their impressive run to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
The 29-year-old was also part of the Forest squad that finished seventh in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season to secure qualification for European football.

Overall, Awoniyi scored 23 goals in 103 appearances across all competitions for Nottingham Forest.
The forward will now begin a new chapter of his career with Coventry City as they prepare for life in the Premier League.
