Peermusic has promoted Julio Bagué to senior vp of A&R, U.S. Latin, and Lalo Molina to director of A&R, Mexico, the independent music publisher announced Friday (Oct. 16).

Bagué, who will be based in Miami, reports to Elizabeth Rodda, president of U.S. Latin, Latin America and global society relations. Molina will continue working from Peermusic’s Mexico City office and report to Viridiana González, general manager of Peermusic Mexico. “In these promotions, we recognize Julio and Lalo’s outstanding efforts for our Latin songwriters, and we continue to provide the best executive talent in service to our writers,” Rodda said in a statement.

Bagué has spent 26 years at Peermusic, where he has helped build the company’s U.S. Latin and Puerto Rico rosters through signings, catalog acquisitions, creative development and synchronization opportunities. His roster work has included Chayanne, Prince Royce, Víctor Manuelle, De La Ghetto, Luis Enrique, Jorge Luis Chacín, Florentino Primera, Genio La Musa, ChocQuibTown, Alejo, Christian Alicea and Erre, among others.

Rodda adds, “Julio has contributed tremendously to the growth of our U.S. and Puerto Rico Latin rosters. He has steadfastly proven his unique ability to form creative strategies, launch careers and create synchronization opportunities for our Latin songwriters in the global music market.”

Bagué has been involved in the acquisition of catalogs like Gilberto Santa Rosa’s PMC and Alejandro Jaén’s Ventura Music, while overseeing publishing matters in Puerto Rico and negotiating mechanical, synchronization and sample licensing agreements.

“As an independent company built around songwriters, Peermusic has always felt like family, and I am grateful to our leadership for their trust and support,” Bagué said in a statement. “It is such an exciting time for Latin music, and I look forward to continuing to champion our writers, producers and artists in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and helping our music reach even greater heights around the world.”

In addition to his publishing career, he is a multi-Latin Grammy-winning producer and arranger who has worked with artists including Jon Secada, Luis Enrique, C4 Trío, Eddie Palmieri and Melina León. He produced the soundtrack for Rebellion, the Netflix musical biopic about Colombian salsa icon Joe Arroyo, and co-executive produced Stardust Road (Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording) with Peermusic CEO Mary Megan Peer.

Meanwhile, Molina joined Peermusic in 2024 as a Latin music A&R consultant. Since then, he has been directly involved in the signings of Mexican artists Aquihayaquihay, Foudeqush, Zizzy, ANASOF and Un León Marinero, as well as Chilean artists KUINA and Akatumamy.

“Lalo has been instrumental in our signings and creative efforts in Mexico, significantly identifying the country’s rich local talent and signing and developing a highly curated roster of writers impacting música mexicana today,” Rodda mentioned. “His dedication to our songwriters, and to their music, makes this next step incredibly well-deserved.”

Molina has helped develop the careers of Ana Sofía Castañeda, Angel Vergara and Manu Beker by securing writing opportunities in Mexico and the U.S. Molina brought the Flans hit “Las Mil y Una Noches,” written by Pablo Pinilla, into the Peermusic catalog while connecting Latin music creators with opportunities in film, television and video games.

“Mexico is home to some of the most exciting songwriters in the world right now, and I’m proud to keep building a roster that honors our musical heritage while pushing it forward,” Molina said. “My focus remains the same: championing our writers and opening doors for their songs, in Mexico and across the globe.”
