Goalkeeper Hassan Muhammed Forced By UAE To Shun Super Eagles Chance

Translate

The goalkeeper of Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates Hassan Muhammed won’t be part of the Nigerian team for the upcoming friendly game against Russia, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Like we exclusively reported head coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle will use the bulk of the players he intends to use in his role as the U23 coach for the upcoming Los Angeles Olympic qualifiers.

They will be joined by some players of the senior national team of Nigeria, who will be part of the team for the AFCON qualifiers games against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau respectively.

Hassan was contacted by head coach Eric Chelle, who sees the 20 year old as an option in goal for his U23 team, but was told by the player that he won’t be able to honour the call up due to a ban on foreign goalkeepers in the UAE.

He is already in possession of a UAE passport, but if he plays for Nigeria his status will now be that of a foreign players hence denying him the chance to continue his career with the club.

We exclusively gathered that Hassan is seen by club officials and even those outside the club as a real prospect, who can develop into a top goalkeeper and possibly play for the UAE in the future.
