The wait is over as Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s Haiwaan has finally arrived in theaters. Since it marks the reunion of Akshay and Priyadarshan after the success of Bhooth Bangla, box office enthusiasts hope the film performs well at the Indian box office in the long run. However, as far as the start is concerned, it’s going to be a slow-to-fair start given the genre. The good thing is that it has shown some movement at the ticket windows during advance booking, putting it ahead of Akshay’s lowest openers in the post-COVID era. Keep reading for a detailed day 1 pre-sales report!

Secures a decent showcasing across India

As expected, the Bollywood crime thriller had a tough time securing showcasing against Mirzapur The Movie and Hanuman Ansh. It has been learned that the film has debuted with around 7,400 shows across India, which is a decent number but not good considering the names associated. But it’s totally understandable, as exhibitors don’t want to lose out on the business that both Mirzapur and Hanuman Ansh are bringing in. The average ticket is 224 rupees, making it affordable for moviegoers.

Haiwaan crosses the 1 crore mark in day 1 advance bookings

Coming to day 1 advance booking final update, Haiwaan sold 44.17K tickets (no blocked seats). In terms of collections, it grossed 1.03 crore at the Indian box office through opening-day pre-sales. In net collections, it equals 87 lakh net. Yes, numbers are low, but they aren’t a complete washout. Crossing the 1 crore mark is a fair thing, and over-the-counter ticket sales are expected to help the film throughout the day.

Trending

With 1.03 crore, Haiwaan has surpassed the day 1 advance bookings of Akshay Kumar’s lowest openers in the post-COVID era. It surpassed Mission Raniganj (76.7 lakh gross), Sarfira (69.99 lakh gross), and Selfiee (40.58 lakh gross).

The crime thriller is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn under the banner of KVN Productions and Thespian Films. It also stars Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Saiyami Kher in key roles. The film features Mohanlal in a cameo appearance.
