Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Final ‘Chicken Shop Date’ Series to Screen in Theaters

Translate

Amelia Dimoldenberg‘s “Chicken Shop Date” is coming to the big screen.

To celebrate its final series after 12 years, Dimoldenberg is holding a one-night-only event on Nov. 24 at cinemas in the U.K., Ireland and Paris in collaboration with YouTube’s Cine Club. All six episodes of the final series — which so far includes interviews with Oasis’ Noel Gallagher, Role Model and Jorja Smith — will be screened together in one “cinematic experience,” per a press release, featuring exclusive new material. The screening will culminate with the final unreleased episode, giving fans a chance to see it before it drops on YouTube Nov. 27.

The “Chicken Shop Date” film will also “offer a personal look behind the series, exploring Amelia’s relationship with the show and her decision to bring it to an end,” the release states. “Moving between comedy, nostalgia and candid reflection, the film is both a celebration of everything ‘Chicken Shop Date’ has become and a fitting farewell to one of the internet’s most recognizable formats.”

Theaters screening the final “Chicken Shop Date” series on Nov. 24 include Duke of York’s Picturehouse in Brighton; Picturehouse Central and Curzon Soho in London; mk2 Bibliothèque in Paris; Vue Manchester Printworks; Vue Edinburgh Omni Centre; Vue Bristol Cribbs Causeway; Vue Birmingham Star City; Vue Dublin Liffey Valley; and Vue London Westfield.

The public screenings will be preceded by invite-only premieres in London on Nov. 16 and New York City on Nov. 17, where Dimoldenberg will also participate in Q&As.

Dimoldenberg revealed that “Chicken Shop Date” would be coming to an end last month, writing in a social media post: “I never thought I’d stop ‘Chicken Shop Date,’ I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one.”
