Yasmien Kurdi says law school her ‘healing ground’ after child’s alleged bullying
Yasmien Kurdi recounted the traumatic experience and the medical ordeal she went through following the alleged bullying of her daughter Ayesha, saying her journey through law school was one of the outlets that helped her heal.
The celebrity mom recalled how she was initially unsure about entering law school, admitting she was surprised after she passed the entrance examination.
“Noong una, hindi ko talaga alam kung tama ba na nag-law school ako. Pero ngayon, unti-unti kong nakikita na calling pala talaga siya. Somehow, it brought me here, and maybe, exactly where I needed to be,” she said on her Instagram page on Sept. 19.

“I was simply taking things one day at a time, not really knowing where this path would lead me. Pero eto pala yung paraan para makapag-heal ako dahan-dahan,” she said.

Kurdi noted that despite the physical exhaustion, she found herself enjoying the journey because of the people she met and the new experience it offered.
“Law school became my healing ground,” she said. “Sobrang babaw ng kaligayahan ko… natatawa ako minsan kung nasaan ako ngayon. Pero masaya ako na may bagong challenge, madami akong natututunan, at napapatunayan ko sa sarili ko na kaya ko pa palang mag-grow and start something new.”
“Siguro ganun talaga. Sometimes, healing comes in the simplest and most unexpected ways,” she added.

In a separate post on Monday, Sept. 21, Kurdi then addressed questions about how law school has become her “healing ground,” saying it somehow serves as a “distraction” from the trauma their family recently experienced.

“After everything my family and I went through, I needed something to distract my mind from the pain and trauma caused by the bullying my daughter experienced in her previous school,” she said.
She revealed that the incident took a toll on her, saying she was rushed to the hospital due to severe urticaria. She added that her daughter was hospitalized and underwent therapy for six months due to anxiety.

“Ganun ka-traumatic yung pinagdaanan namin ng pamilya ko, lalo na’t kasabay pa noon ang postpartum period ko. Naalala ko ang bawat detalye ng trauma na pinagdaanan ng anak at pamilya ko sa school na iyon,” she lamented.
“Hindi ibig sabihin na walang stress sa law school. Pero ibang klaseng stress ito. May choice ka naman kung mag-stay ka o hindi. It keeps my mind occupied, gives me purpose, and helps me focus on something positive instead of constantly reliving what happened,” she said. “Kaya, for me, law school became my healing ground.”
