Clint Eastwood is one of the all-time greats of cinema. Now, he will leave a legacy through not only through his work, but his family. Eastwood has eight children from various relationships, and his son Scott Eastwood has fashioned his own career as a fairly successful actor. Scott Eastwood has had roles in several blockbuster films including Suicide Squad, The Fate of the Furious, and The Longest Ride. Scott Eastwood's recent work includes movies like Regretting You and Lucky Strike, while 96-year-old father Clint last directed the movie Juror #2 in 2024.
Before Scott became the regular working actor he is today, he was in one of Clint's lesser-known directorial works, Flags of our Fathers. The historical WWII war drama weaves together the lives of six soldiers fighting in the Battle of Iwo Jima. Scott Eastwood played the role of Lundsford in the film, while Clint stayed behind the camera as director and producer. The movie ended up nominated for two Oscars, for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing, winning neither.
Flags Of Our Fathers Is About To Explode On Pluto TV
Flags of Our Fathers is making its streaming return, debuting on Pluto TV. The film has just arrived on the platform today, November 1. It is also still available to rent on Prime Video starting at $3.99, but with Pluto TV being a free, ad-supported service, the movie will be more widely available. A film with both Eastwoods that has strong enough reviews as Flags of Our Fathers (which holds a Certified Fresh 76% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes) is a good recipe for streaming success.
The Film Marked A Unique Eastwood Family Pairing
This movie is a key milestone in the Eastwoods' careers, especially because it marked the film debut of Scott Eastwood. Just 20 years old at the time, Scott Eastwood was able to capitalize on the opportunity provided by his more famous father, and kickstart a career. Now 40 years old, Eastwood is getting more regular roles, including in several very successful film. His 2026 movie Lucky Strike had a recent blow up on Hulu. Scott played the leading role in that film, highlighting how much he has risen to success.
After their joint work on Flags of Our Fathers, Clint and Scott Eastwood went on to work together several more times. This first manifested just two years after the WWII film's release, with Clint's well-reviewed, award-winning Gran Torino. Other joint projects included Invictus in 2009 and Trouble with the Curve in 2012. Flags of Our Fathers is where their collaboration all started, making it a great film to check out for fans of either or both stars.
