Tamil Nadu long jumper David Patturaj Solomon has been added to India’s Asian Games 2026 athletics squad in a late change to the contingent.
The 24-year-old strengthened his case with an 8.14m effort at the Inter-Railways competition in Kolkata on September 13.
Solomon has a personal best of 8.22m, recorded in Thiruvananthapuram on June 14 this year. The mark places him fourth on India’s all-time list behind national record-holder Jeswin Aldrin, Murali Sreeshankar, and Shahnavaz Khan.
He had also crossed the Asian Games qualification mark with an 8.08m jump at the National Inter-State Championships earlier this season.
