"Gripping" psychological thriller with star-studded cast gets first-look trailer and release window

Psychological thriller The Good Daughter has been given a first look trailer alongside a release window. The new Peacock and Sky series stars Sirens' Meghann Fahy and If I Had Legs I'd Kick You's Rose Byrne as two sisters whose lives were "fractured by a single night of violence" 20 years prior.

However, "when another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte – now a lawyer like her father – is the first witness on the scene".

"As the case unfolds and twists through painful memories and buried secrets, what emerges is not just a story of survival, but of enduring ties between a father and his daughters, and the complex bond between sisters," the synopsis adds.

The first trailer has now dropped showing siblings Samantha and Charlotte reuniting after a decade, depicting their younger selves being followed by gunmen. We then get teases of violence and drama, soundtracked by Phoebe Bridgers's eerie track 'Kill Me'.

Sky has also confirmed that the six-episode show will premiere on its service and NOW in November in the UK and Ireland.

The Good Daughter is adapted from the novel of the same name by Karin Slaughter, who has also written and executive produced the show.

The series also features Spider-Noir's Brendan Gleeson, Will & Harper's Harper Steele, The Crown's Olivia Williams, For All Mankind's Michael Dorman, The Flight Attendant's Audrey Grace Marshall, and Drew Ann Cheek.

Sky described the series as "gripping", with Group Director of Acquisitions, Katie Keenan, previously saying: "This is another outstanding American drama we are bringing to the UK, and our Sky and NOW audiences will love this series."

Fahy, who replaced original star Jessica Biel in the series, has had quite a busy year or so, appearing in 2025 in Netflix black comedy Sirens with Milly Alcock and Julianne Moore, as well as mystery thriller movie Drop with Brandon Sklenar.

Byrne, meanwhile, earned her first Oscar nomination for black comedy If I Had Legs I'd Kick You earlier this year, also winning a Golden Globe for her performance.

The Good Daughter premieres in November on Sky and NOW in the UK. In the US, the show streams on Peacock.
