SUNGAI PETANI, Oct 10 — Fourteen people aged between 16 and 24 have been remanded to assist investigations into the death of an 18-year-old man whose body was found by the roadside in Gurun on Thursday.

Bernama reported Kuala Muda police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan as saying that 12 of the suspects were remanded for six days, while two minors were remanded for five days.

The remand orders were issued by Magistrate Noor Fazlina Musa at the Sungai Petani Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The victim, identified by Sinar Harian as Muhammad Haikal Mohd Shahrilnizam, was found at about 8am near Jalan Harvard in Gurun.
