For Off Campus fans! Prime Video's "near-perfect" new rom-com is available to watch now

If you're a fan of Off Campus and false dating-to-lovers stories, then Prime Video's fellow new rom-com may be up your street. The Love Hypothesis is based on the book of the same name by Ali Hazelwood, and stars Riverdale's Lili Reinhart and Based on a True Story's Tom Bateman.

The story focuses on a PhD candidate called Olive (Lili Reinhart) "who impulsively kisses her department's most intimidating professor, Adam Carlsen".

"Their mutual need for a fake relationship turns into an experiment in chemistry that might actually solve for love," the synopsis adds.

Viewers wanting to catch the movie can now do so via the streamer after it was added to the service today.

Also starring Fallout's Rachel Marsh, Only Murders in the Building's Jaboukie Young-White and Daredevil: Born Again's Arty Froushan, the movie is directed by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's Claire Scanlon and written by The Sleepover's Sarah Rothschild.

So far, The Love Hypothesis has attracted acclaim, sitting at an impressive 86% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 22 reviews.

Collider called it "a near-perfect rom-com experiment", adding: "Ultimately, The Love Hypothesis is a successful experiment led by Reinhart and Bateman, and another mostly solid addition to the rom-com genre – as well as the romance-novel-to-screen-adaptation pipeline."

Mashable said it is "a bubbly blast that'll have your insides fizzing", even though it has a lack of "yearning", while Lady Geeks Media suggested the film is "a rom-com treasure – the kind of movie that instantly becomes a comfort watch".

"The Love Hypothesis is a funny, sexy rom-com adaptation from page to screen," added IGN. "Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman bring the comedy and heat to Olive and Adam, while Rachel Marsh and Jaboukie Young-White provide great support in a very charming ensemble.
