Zhegrova scores for Kosovo, but Juventus await Conceiçao tests after Portugal injury

Juventus winger Edon Zhegrova scored from the spot in Kosovo’s 3-1 loss to Austria, but Francisco Conceiçao picked up a knock during Norway-Portugal and was forced off.

Serie A giants Juventus received good and bad news from international matches played on Sunday.

Mixed Juventus news from Zhegrova and Conceiçao

Kosovian winger Zhegrova scored his side’s only goal from the spot in a 3-1 away defeat against Austria, while Portugal international Conceiçao was forced to be subbed off in the second half of an away game against Norway.

Conceiçao required medical attention after suffering a knock in the first half. The 23-year-old stayed on the field but was forced off early in the second half.

Gazzetta reports that Conceiçao picked up a knee knock, while Tuttosport says the winger had thigh discomfort.

Juventus are waiting for medical tests, which the Portuguese medical staff will carry out today, but Tuttosport adds the Serie A giants are confident their winger did not suffer a significant injury.

Portugal coach Jorge Jesus praised Conceiçao but didn’t provide an update on his fitness after the match.

“Francisco Conceição gave me good responses. He was doing very well until he took the hit and I had to take him off,” he said via O Jogo.

“He was the creative player; he was what I had in mind. I’m satisfied; he’s a young lad.”
