KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Red Giants (SRG) continued their dominance in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MPL) Professional League Malaysia by winning their sixth consecutive title after defeating Team Rey (TR) 4-3 in Sunday's final at Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara.

SRG were pushed to the limit in a match that went to the seventh game, but managed to overcome TR to retain the championship.

Michael Angelo Bocado's (Arcadia) side got off to a strong start by taking the first game, but TR fought back to level at 1-1 after dominating the second game.

SRG regained the lead by winning the third game before TR levelled the score at 2-2 in the fourth.

Both teams continued to trade blows as SRG claimed the fifth game, but TR refused to back down and dragged the match into a decider by winning the sixth game.

SRG, however, dominated the seventh game to secure a 4-3 victory and retain the MPL Malaysia title.

"I'm very happy because Team Rey really stepped up their game. We enjoyed the entire series as they kept fighting back in every game, making it a really exciting experience for us.

"It has been a while since we experienced such an intense and enjoyable series," said Arcadia after the match.

Both teams have qualified for the M8 World Championship in Istanbul, Turkiye next year. – BERNAMA
