If you subscribe to PlayStation Plus, then you're likely already swamped with an abundance of new and exciting games to play. It is both the blessing and the curse of subscription services like PS+: their seemingly never-ending catalogs packed with engrossing experiences that seem to depart as soon as they appear, only to be replaced by equally tantalizing games. However, for those with the time and patience to play through the plethora of available titles, it is absolutely worth your while.
Fortunately, PlayStation Plus is being treated to yet another round of great games, ones that feel as if they'll enrapture you for dozens of hours and are thus very much going on top of the near-bursting backlog. These five games are being added at no extra cost to the consumer and with absolutely no strings attached. So, if PlayStation Plus' October lineup has proven to not be enough, then you should be sure to check out the latest batch of new PS Plus additions in the hopes of finding your new favorite game.
While PlayStation Plus' games for November loom on the horizon, there are still a handful of games yet to come to the service in October. These range from AAA masterpieces to JRPG classics and more, and all hope to engross you enough that you continue to subscribe for yet another month. There are five games left for the month, the vast majority of which were released onto PlayStation Plus yesterday (October 20), and two of which are coming in the next few days.
Included in this list are Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West, and Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn Edition. Mafia: The Old Country was only released last year, so it is a good option for those who missed out or didn't feel like paying full price. Horizon Forbidden West is rejoining PS Plus after leaving the service in 2024. Unfortunately, this is just the base version of the game and doesn't include any DLC, unlike Tales of Arise, which is joining PS Plus with all its content. Here is a full list of the five games joining PS Plus:
- Horizon Forbidden West (available now)
- Mafia: The Old Country (available now)
- Mycopunk (available now)
- Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game (available on October 27)
- Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition (available on October 27)
One of the more interesting additions in this lineup is Mycopunk. It is a brand-new day-one title for PlayStation Plus that was developed by Pigeons at Play and published by the legendary Devolver Digital. Mycopunk has already amassed numerous glowing reviews on platforms like Steam and the PlayStation Store, with many praising its first-person shooting, chaotic co-op fun, and novel premise. It may be one to keep an eye on for those who are looking for a new shooter to play with friends.
All of the aforementioned games are available to those who are subscribed to the PlayStation Plus Extra tier and above.
This is a generally good lineup of games that should hopefully keep users entertained. Horizon Forbidden West is easily the biggest addition, but smaller releases like Mycopunk and even the somewhat underrated Mafia: The Old Country are worth a try. At the very least, it sure helps to bulk up one's backlog and give players even more excuses to put off games they've already bought. Here's hoping PlayStation Plus offers great games like these over the next few months.
