Salah Slapped With Heavy Fine, Driving Ban In England

Former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been handed a six-month driving ban and ordered to pay a £1,044 fine following a court case in the United Kingdom.

According to British newspaper The Sun, the legal proceedings stem from an incident on March 27, when a Rolls-Royce registered to the Egyptian star was caught by a speed camera traveling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Court documents at the Warrington Combined Court, the matter escalated because notices regarding the prosecution sent to his address went unanswered, and no plea was entered.

In August, a court in Warrington, Cheshire, convicted Salah in his absence for failing to identify the driver and imposed a six-month driving disqualification along with a fine of €769.

This is not his first traffic offence. In 2022, he was fined and given three penalty points for speeding in a Ferrari.

While the ruling adds to a handful of previous motoring issues during his time in England, it is unlikely to impact him immediately as he continues his club career abroad.
