The end is fast approaching for Mayor of Kingstown.

With Jeremy Renner in the lead role of Mike McLuskey, the Taylor Sheridan show has been a major streaming hit for Paramount+, has an 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and is coming off of its best reception yet, as season 4 has a 100% Tomatometer score from critics. Season 5 has been confirmed to be the end of the popular series, though, bringing the story of Mike and Kingstown, Michigan to its conclusion.

Paramount+ has now announced that Mayor of Kingstown season 5 will premiere on January 15. First-look images were also revealed that tease how after the vengeance visited upon Callahan (Richard Brake) by Mike and Kyle (Taylor Handley), FBI agent Russell Hardy (David Morse) arrives in Kingstown searching for the "fugitive" Callahan. Agent Hardy intends to expose Mike's various crimes and secrets and change the balance of power within Kingstown. Check out the images below:

In addition to Renner, Handley, and Morse, the Mayor of Kingstown cast for the eight-episode final season features Edie Falco as Nina Hobbs, Laura Benanti as Cindy Stephens, Hugh Dillon as Ian Ferguson, Tobi Bamtefa as Bunny Washington, Derek Webster as Stevie, Necar Zadegan as Evelyn Foley, Nichole Galicia as Rebecca, and Lennie James as Frank Moses.

Sheridan and Dillon co-created the series and executive produce alongside Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, Michael Slovis, Regina Corrado, and Keith Cox. Erickson is also the showrunner for the series, and Sheridan directed the pilot episode. Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions are the producing studios.

While Mayor of Kingstown is coming to an end, there are still more seasons of Sheridan shows airing or in the works on Paramount+. Marshals season 2 premiered on October 4, followed by Tulsa King season 4 on October 16, and Frisco King debuts on December 18, about a month before Renner's series kicks off its last season. Landman season 3, The Madison season 2, and Dutton Ranch season 2 are all in the works as well, and Marshals could get renewed for a third season.

Sheridan will not be making shows for Paramount+ indefinitely, though, as he signed a lucrative deal last year with NBCUniversal. His existing television deal with Paramount, now called Skydance after the merger with Warner Bros., stays in effect until the end of 2028. In this sense, the end of Mayor of Kingstown is also the beginning of his final era with Paramount+.
