Playhouse Post Opens Doors On Soho Facility After Halo Assets Deal

EXCLUSIVE: Soho’s post-production village has had its fair share of closure over recent years, but here’s news of something opening.
Playhouse Post has officially opened doors to its new 12,000 sq ft facility on Noel Street in London’s West End, with newly refurbished cutting rooms overlooking Soho and end-to-end post-production services provided.
Kim Bartley’s Lemonade, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, was the first feature to complete post-production at Playhouse Post and was also financed by Playhouse Studios.
The news comes not long after we revealed Playhouse had bought the assets of Halo Post, which went into administration, and took over the Noel Street facility. What followed was Halo’s assets merging with those of another British post house that went into administration, LipSync, and the launch of Playhouse Post.
Noel Street has now been refurbed with a studio offering colour grading, VFX, picture finishing, sound, VFX, colour and delivery in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision-equipped facilities. Cutting rooms will provide productions with editorial bases along with remote offline solutions and wider post-production finishin services.
There is also a 4K theatrical grading theater and two Dolby Vision 4K HDR grading suites, two purpose-built 4K HDR Flame suites provide dedicated finishing and client review space, whilst another three finishing rooms for grade, VFX and online. On the sound front, three refurbished Pro Tools studios will offer a range of services, including voiceover facilities for film, drama and doc projects.
“Playhouse Post’s revamped Noel Street facility gives productions the flexibility to move through multiple stages of post under one roof, supported by the infrastructure and creative environment needed for increasingly complex workflows,” said Mark Foligno, CEO of Playhouse Post. “We’re excited to be opening our high-spec London facility to continue supporting ambitious projects of every scale, from development through to final delivery.”
For Playhouse, the launch comes as the Dublin-based company continues to seek expansion in the UK and Ireland, and follows the launch of a Belfast office, which has Martin Brennan and Janine Cobain leading it as Director of Playhouse Northern Ireland and Head of Production, respectively.
Besides buying up post assets, Playhouse has begun investing in its own suite of film and TV projects.
