The Indian hockey teams will enter the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya as prime contenders for the gold medals.
While the men’s team is the defending champion, the women’s team finished third to claim bronze in the 2023 edition in Hangzhou.
Both teams, however, had mixed World Cup campaigns in the Netherlands and Belgium last month, where the men’s side was placed eighth and the women’s finishing a commendable fifth.
The men’s team head coach, Craig Fulton, has just made one change to the World Cup squad with experienced midfielder Raj Kumar Pal coming in place of Aditya Lalage.
There are no changes to the women’s contingent from the World Cup.
