IPOH: Two female students were killed while another was seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car in Taman Perpaduan Ria, Tambun here today.

The incident, involving a Yamaha EZ115 motorcycle and a Proton Saga, was reported to the Tambun Fire and Rescue Station at 7.22am.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said initial information indicated that the three students were on their way to school when the crash occurred.

"Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel, while another sustained serious injuries," he said.

Sabarodzi said the injured 12-year-old pupil received initial treatment from Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel, who fitted her with a cervical collar.

"She was then taken to hospital for treatment," he said, adding that the bodies of the two deceased students were handed over to the police.

The operation, involving three firefighters and an EMRS vehicle, ended at 8.33am.
